Brightest Light, Darkest Knight

Eve's Holonet Log 5

It has become clear to me that the Dark Underlord is controlling far more than we realized. I can sight numerous instances where events have turned in our favor by the direct hand of the Underlord himself. What disturbs me more is that his plan is rather brilliant…perhaps one I would have even implemented myself; although not as brutally. The realization of this has come to mean that I believe I am his biological descendant. This also means that I must, as a result, question my own motives. And I can sense at this point…so do my comrades.

The only way for me to ensure I am not a pawn is to either destroy my opponent…and if I cannot do that…I must destroy the board.

Hayden was correct in his assumption that the Jedi council would be compromised. My comrades and I had to put them down while Hayden pursued the Dark Underlord. We were almost ambushed by a series of squad killer charges, however, Aruki deflected the blast and ended up separating herself from the group. We were unable to reach her and had to engage the council. All of whom, except Naomi Lightstar who wasn’t present, had been bionically enhanced with Sith Alchemy. Despite their enhancements they were easier targets to defeat than I expected; this was in part due to help from Atlas, who turned on the Sith to assist us. It has been over fifteen years since I have seen him—and still I knew him even before he removed his helmet. Our victory over the Sith corrupted Council was swift. Hayden had less success with the Dark Underlord as the Sith spirit escaped; but we saved many Jedi during the Temple reclaiming and overall it was a success. As with any battle the Mandalorians celebrated after; Hayden announced to the clan his intent to claim the title of Mandalor the Red as well our intent to be married. The clan was in a mild state of shock over the news—I assume it was quite a lot for them to take in; I am hopeful that their shock was due more to Hayden’s proclamation about Mandalor than the news of our pending marriage. I am hoping that the clan will accept me with relative ease.

In order to maintain control of the Jedi and stop the Sith, Hayden and I immediately departed for Mandalor. During this one to two week endeavor we should be able to accomplish positioning Hayden as Mandalor, killing a Mythosaur and start the biological feat of growing our children. I have learned that Hayden is a skilled doctor and am relieved that we won’t have to rely on outside assistance to create our children. Hayden has requested twins, a boy and a girl, instead of the one male child I suggested. I am surprised at how quickly he has adjusted to the idea of creating offspring so soon and of course agreed to his request. During our travel to Mandalor I worked on force gems while Hayden saw to the embryos.

Once we reached Mandalor it became apparent that the Sith had overtaken the planet. This was a very tactical move on their part in an attempt to gain even further military resources—they quite literally beat us to the punch. Regardless, we engaged several Sith battle ships, landed safely and also defeated the ground crew that followed us. We learned that during the battle our Nav system was damaged and we would be forced to complete our original two week flight plan that would take us to Dathomir. I had hoped we would be able to return to Coruscant once Hayden had secured the position of Mandalor so that we might take up the search for Aruki—that was now no longer an option. I can only hope that Airi and Odax will be successful in their retrieval of her.

Once we finished off the Sith droid ground crews we were attacked by a female Mythosaur—likely that our presence disturbed the beast from hibernation. Hayden and I had already discussed a plan well in advance and although we were taken by surprise we were prepared. We defeated the Mythosaur by stunning it in rapid succession, six seconds later and it was in a coma. We then pulled it apart to ensure its death. Hayden removed the bones needed for the Axe of Mandalor and I salvaged food and enough hide from the beast to supply all of the Red Dragons with Mythosaur armor. Once we completed this we made our way into the heart of the Mandalorian city so that we could retake the city that was now overrun with Sith. Hayden stated that it was likely the Sith took over the Mandalorian elder council and were occupying the largest building in Mandalor. I agreed this was the Sith’s most likely course of action. Hayden and I fought our way through the city and to the building where the elder council would reside. Noting that the council was likely on the top floor we used our jetpacks to bypass the first several dozen floors and headed straight for the roof. There we were able to see that Sith had indeed occupied the elder councils meeting room. We fought the five Sith lords, and after Hayden severed them from the force, defeat them with ease while still keeping them alive. I pulled each of their memories from them and obsorbed their connection to the dark side. I have given them another chance whether they wanted it or now; their skill level was too great to not take advantage of them as allies. Once this was completed we learned that the elder council had been killed and that the rest of the Mandalorian elite were being held in an underground dungeon in this building. Hayden and I fought our way to the prison and released them all. One of the captives was a Mandalorian high priest—Hayden requested him to officially wed us on Mandalor.

After the ceremony Hayden gave a speech to the Mandalorians—demanding they acknowledge him as Mandalor the Red and that they report to Coruscant for assignment. From Mandalor we set course for Dathomir—and along the way received a transmission from Atlas. It seemed he had tracked down Aruki and rescued her; however, there were complications. Aruki was subject to Sith experiments and since she was in a comatose state Atlas took her primary Dr./scientist along with him, I determined both the scientist and Aruki were under the influence of the Dark Underlord and expelled his possession from them; at which point Atlas returned to Coruscant to report to the rest of the Council and reunite Aruki with Airi.

Once on Dathomir we discovered semi-intelligent Rankor enslaving humans; Hayden and I intervened. We were able to mind trick the Rankor into working with the humans and I drew on my vergence in the Force to make the women force sensitive. I declined to connect the men of the planet with the force as they had subjected the women to brutalities and had all fallen to the dark side; instead of killing them I have empowered the women to be able to handle the situation on their own.

Hayden has now made it clear that we will be able to maintain our status as Red Dragons while serving as the Jedi Council. In light of this I have further contemplated on Hayden’s suggestion that the Jedi Council might not be salvageable and what we would do in this instance. I believe that things would have to be rebuilt, from the ground up, to stop the ever occurring cycle of the Jedi’s destruction. The order needs restructured from its current system to one that will be more adaptable to the changes its members will face. If it cannot be more flexible it will continue to break. During this rebuilding phase the Jedi order would be vulnerable to outside influence and attacks. The Jedi would have to align themselves with a powerful combative force that did not desire to take them over, but simply agreed to protect them. It is convenient, therefore, that we have access to the Red Dragons.

The Council themselves will have to be able to understand the need for reformation and have the will to implement the change; this will mean that a new breed of Jedi will need to sit as Council. I believe that my group is best suited to this task. The twins bring an emotional depth that the Order needs. Their vast capability of emotion represents an aspect of many species that must be taken into account, not shunned; although due to that unstable emotional nature neither are suited to the role of Grand Master. Odax is an excellent scholar and would serve as a superior advisor aboard the Countil, however, due to his susceptible nature he is too prone to possession and persuasion to be able to be Grand Master. I have, therefore, surmised that I should fill that role. I am capable of the clearest thought process and will not allow personal interest to cloud my tactical judgment for the greater good of the entire Jedi order. I will be able to rely on aspects of all their personalities to consider every viewpoint, but will also be able to make the final decision and act based on tactics and logic.

I discussed with Hayden the need for the Jedi to be able to rely on not just the Red Dragon’s for military support, but all of the Mandalorians—one clan simply will not be enough support to protect the Jedi from the Sith and possibly from the Republic themselves. I explained that one clan of Mandalorians would not be sufficient and that the only conclusion would be for Hayden to take up the mantle of Mandalor and unite the clans. Then he would be able to offer the Jedi and the new Council the support that would be required. This in turn would provide a base of operations that the Red Dragon need; in addition, it would also solidify his alliance with the Jedi and thus ensure a longer more successful future for the Red Dragons. Hayden was reluctant to agree to this and stated that before he would embark on such ambitious professional goals he wanted to complete his personal goals first. He stated he wanted to be married and mentioned the importance for having a solid plan for clan succession. As his first declaration did not seem to include me I suggested he approach Paige to fulfill his personal needs. I understand he has known her longer and she would be a better suited choice—Hayden seemed put off by this and asked where I stood on the matter. I explained I was not aware I was an option, but that I would see his personal ambitions realized if he would like me to. I was surprised he utilized an old human tradition of bending one knee to ask. I agreed and stated the most obvious plan for clan succession would be for us to conceive a child. Likely the best method would be to grow that embryo in a Bacta tank to ensure I was still in fighting performance. I am unsure if Hayden’s surprise was because he hadn’t realized I had considered these things or if I was moving too quickly and bypassing certain emotional displays that one might expect from a female of my species. Regardless, he has agreed to all the key steps in my plan and has requested we take a brief shore leave after some sort of more formal ceremony so that the clan might recognize our partnership—I have agreed and suggested we head to a planet known for conflict and hone our fighting skills.

I will continue to consider how the Jedi Order might be further reformed. Here are the ideas I have thus far.

Jedi Order Restructure

Eve's Holonet Log 2
Hayden has pointed out, because of The Dark Underworld, that the Jedi Council may have been disbanded or destroyed. He has suggested that our group could potentially have to take the Council’s place. He has made it clear that he thinks we should, in fact, take over as Council if given the opportunity. I find this train of thought disturbing—how could I think, how could anyone think, that I would be suited to Council. Hayden knows better. I know better. Therefore I could not let this line of thinking continue—if I positioned myself within the Red Dragons in a capacity where I had rank, where I had importance, he would not be able to send me away as easily. I stood up and fought Hayden’s second in command, Caleb, in open combat. I succeeded. Let us see if he can send me away now. He is right, the Jedi need reformation—and I can help them, but I will do so as a Mandalorian not as a Knight.

On our way back to Coruscant to free the Jedi I asked Hayden to assist with my force crystals—letting him look them over to see if they were flawed. I felt like I should be helping in some manner while he was doing that. Even after years with the Jedi I am unused to people helping for the sake of helping. He is always very busy and took time from his schedule to aid me; therefore, I made dinner while he worked—a fair trade I thought.

I’m unsure if he misunderstood my reasoning behind making the food…he began asking questions about Mandalorian conduct and adoption. Was he testing me? Regardless, I do not feel like deceit will ever be the right answer with Hayden so I responded truthfully. I didn’t realize what he was implying until he asked specifically if I was open to adoption with someone. I do not consider myself capable of handling something like that alone; however, I was raised to be unyielding support. Unbreakable. I am good at that role and told him as such. I assumed that would be the end of the discussion. How could he be interested in someone with my background? Why would he be interested in someone with my background?

Nevertheless, he has made it clear he is and attempted to spend more time with me. He has also tried to carefully pursue a measure of physical intimacy—I can only assume he believes I was “damaged” from my time with the Sith. Perhaps I was, but not in the manner that he thinks. I find that while I am mostly immune to mental upheaval, whether from stress, anger or other influencing factors—I am also almost entirely incapable of expressing emotion or even feeling it to any significant degree. So, I have concluded those must be precisely the reasons why Hayden is interested in me. He needs someone who is capable of defending the Red Dragons—and I have now proven myself as his second; however, he also needs someone who does not have the capacity to be hurt by lack of attention due to his time demanding position as leader of the Red Dragons. His reasons are sound and I can accept them. I also find myself drawn to him—I can accept that as well.

Eve's Holonet Log 1

It is strange to say I feel that I have learned more of what it means to be a Jedi from the Mandalorians than I have from any Jedi Master. Whether this is the result of my own willingness to learn I am unsure; perhaps I was more reluctant in my studies at the Temple than I realized. Perhaps in the Mandalorians I feel more freedom to pursue myself and therefore am more in touch with the force? However, as the Jedi have been disbursed I cannot go back and test this theory—and I am hesitant to admit, I am unsure if I would want to.

The Jedi order seemed to be the ideal place and culture to foster one’s mental and physical development. Did my training leave me more brainwashed than I realized? Was this His plan to ensure that I remained closely integrated within the Jedi? If so, did I unknowingly carry out His plan? Perhaps my delusion of freedom, of rebellion, was merely by His design.

I have yet to find an answer to these questions—either within myself or the force; however, I will remain diligent. I will be mindful of the decisions that I make, knowing that perhaps, it is not my own will that drives me.
