Brightest Light, Darkest Knight
Force Secret Revisions
You can choose to apply the [dark side] descriptor to any Force Power you use. In addition, your character can spend a Force Point to remove the [light side] descriptor and replace it with the [dark side] descriptor.
When activating a Force Power, your character can choose to take a -5 penalty to your Use the Force check to activate the power in exchange for dealing 50% additional dice of damage. Cumulative penalties can be applied, so a -10 penalty on the activation roll would yield double damage. Penalties may only be taken in increments of 5 and cannot reduce the character’s bonus to his Use the Force check below zero.
When activating a Force Power with a range farther than touch, your character can choose to take a -2 penalty to the Use the Force activation roll to double the range of the power. For a -5 penalty, your character can change the range of the power to Line of Sight. By expending a single Destiny point and taking a -5 penalty on the activation roll, the range of a force power augmented with this force secret is extended to any character you can perceive in the same galaxy.
When activating a Force Power that covers an area, your character can take a -5 to the activation roll to double the area affected. 6 square cones become 12 square cones while 2 square radius effects become 4 square radius effects. Your character make take a cumulative -5 penalty to continue doubling the range, though the multiplicative is additive in this instance. Taking a -15 penalty on a Force Power would quadruple the area. Apply the benefits of Enlarged Power after all other effects that modify the Force Power’s range.
Your character can choose to grant a single Force Power from your force suite as a move action to any ally within 12 squares. The target retains the ability to use the Force Power for the duration of the encounter and each use counts as an expended Force Power for the encounter as normal. Additionally, your character can spend a Force Point as a reaction to allow the ally to use your Use the Force skill bonus in place of their own when they activate a Force Power received from this Force Secret provided they are within 12 squares and line of sight.
In addition, your character can build a holocron and imprint his consciousness as a Gatekeeper.
Your character can choose to change the target of a single Force Power from yourself to an ally within 12 squares and line of sight. If applicable, the target may choose to maintain the power by expending the normal required action. A force user may also spend a Destiny point to activate a Force Power to have it affect himself and a single ally within line of sight. If applicable, both powers require only one action to maintain.
A force user with an apprentice may change the target of a force power (as outlined above) without spending a Force Point or may activate a Force Power that affects both himself and his Padawan by spending a Force Point. Maintaining a Force Power for both himself and his Padawan requires only a single corresponding action and both Powers operate off a single Use the Force check.
Often Force Users can summon forth more Force Powers than they can keep track of which is why this Force Secret was developed by those that wish to augment themselves with nothing but the living Force. A Force User with this Secret can use a single action to maintain multiple Powers that require the same (or less) time to maintain the power by taking a -5 for each additional Force Power maintained after the first. All Force Powers must still be activated normally as this Secret does nothing to help the Force User active Force Powers and the penalized roll applies to all Force Powers maintained for determining their effect. This penalty also applies on Use the Force checks made to maintain a power if the character takes damage, and failing a check drops all active Powers instead of just one.
Choose a single target Force Power that targets a creature or object other than yourself. Your character may take a -5 penalty on his Use the Force check to target one additional creature within range of the Force Power. Your character may take an additional -5 for each additional creature he wishes to target. Penalties must be taken in increments of 5 and cannot reduce the character’s Use the Force check below 0.
By meditating in a force trance for 1 minute, you can substitute any number of Force Powers known for different Force Powers. While substituted, the previous powers are inaccessible but the new force power remains available and functions as a normal. Force Techniques and Force Secrets that apply to a Force Power swapped out by this secret do not confer any benefit. The substituted powers persist until you meditate in a Force Trance for 1 minute to “reset” your original force powers or rest for an hour.
You can choose to apply the [light side] descriptor to any Force Power you use. In addition, your character can spend a Force Point to remove the [dark side] descriptor and replace it with the [light side] descriptor.
By spending a single Force Point, your character may activate a Force Power that normally requires a standard action (or less) to activate as a swift action. Your character may also activate a force power that normally requires a standard action (or less) as a reaction with the expenditure of a Destiny Point.
Select a single Force Power that targets an area. Your character may alter the shape of that force power to a line, cone or roughly spherical covering a number of squares equal to the original area of the power. This force secret does not change the range of the force power, so force powers that originate from your character must still do so despite their modified shape. Your character can also always choose to spend a force point to spare allies any harmful effects from the selected force power.
By expending a single Force Point, your character may ignore all penalties to the activation roll of a Force Power provided he can take the action required to activate the Force Power. Further, Unconditional Power also eliminates the need to gesture to activate a force power.
